Maarten Biermans led the Global Sustainable Finance team at Rabobank. Before that, he began his career at the bank as Head of ESG Policy, following several years as a strategy consultant at Spring Associates (now Holtara), where he focused on responsible investment and ESG integration for private equity firms. Maarten holds dual Master’s degrees in Economics and Philosophy, as well as a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. He is also a frequent contributor to ESG-related think tanks, including the Human Rights Committee of the Advisory Council on International Affairs.
